Per the garden calendar, what is the difference between planting and transplanting?

I’ve noticed the calendar gives dates for both. Although the dates are near perfect, they are not. Partly your instinct’s will guide you depending on where you live and your previous experiences there. It makes me happy to know that i’m not nearly the only inquisitive party out here.
I know that my answer to your dilemma seems wide open so I will also include a thought that will help you personally decide between seeding a row or transplanting being a better choice.  ”The benefit to transplanting is that you are spacing for the best harvest possible while doing that. Planting seeds in rows will require at a later date either the moving or killing off of some seedlings for the best growth. It seems to make the best sense to me personally as to get the full use of every seedling by maturing all of your seeds and then transplanting them in a row bed appropriately when the time is right.”
I hope this was helpful to you! And Seasons Greetings To You And Yours!!!
