I’m sorry to say I won’t be back for a while…. most here complain about it not being cold enough or not having enough snow, when you don’t even need it….your just being greedy, where there are so many folks here out west hoping praying they will get some precip…..these folks are happy to get half inch of rain yet you complain bc it’s rain and not snow…..Makes a person wonder what the world is coming to when ppl only think of themselves. Point is be glad for what you have , It will be cold and snowy in the east eventually it always is one or the other if not both. And when it rains when you want snow remember the farmers and cattlemen out west that are wondering if there will be a next yr for them. And I also want to say that I’m not mad in the least, bc I see the world is now an It’s all bout me place.Maybe it’s just me, I’ve never been the type to just think of myself. I also Hope you get the snow you want…..and have a Happy Whatever Holidays Christmas etc.
kitten

Kitten. we all hope and pray for those areas that need rain, hopefully it ends soon. But several of us that are active on this forum and are wishing for snow do so because our lively hoods depend on it, if we dont have snow to push then we dont have work, and with a low snow winter like last year we really need snow, just like your cattleman and farmers need rain. To ensure there is a next year.
Hope you get all the rain you can handle very very soon!
God Bless!
Well said trw, my livelyhood DEPENDS on the weather, so yes I’m upset we have not snow. I will be out of business soon if this keeps up, so will others here in the east. So kitten I will complain, if I chose.
And as I said It’s about the ones that DON’T NEED it! I do understand that some ppl do…. And I’m not just thinking about the cattlemen and farmers but the millions of ppl they feed!
thanks trw God Bless! Where do you live? Too many here to remember where everyone lives, but with the cycles being as they are I hope you have another job as well….something to get you by on the low snow yrs…I had a few friends in MD that plowed snow.
spellbound feel free to complain if your lively hood depends upon it like I said it’s for those that don’t need it……and to you as well where are you located and do you plow snow also?
from a girl that wore flip flops all last winter…….if thats what you could even call it……
I currently live at the Grand Canyon, they have implimented a thinning of the brush, and trees in the ‘living’ areas, at least that is what I’ve noticed. Though we had a wet monsoon and actually had grass growing, the dryness consists and we are worried about the wild fires.
I don’t know if any of yoiu have noticed the prices of basic necessitites; eggs, milk, breads etc all going in substantially. I’m sure a lot of it is from this drought. Any comments?
nancy it is bc the feed has gone up and it’s only gonna get worse if this keeps up…..
It’s called a weather fourm Kitten. we talk about weather and complain about it and sometimes have wonderful things to say about it. If you wanna go then go. have a good holiday and a better 2013..
Dan
@Grandin that is the point of the forum after all lol hope we all get to work soon!
I have to say, I agree about people’s jobs and livelihoods depending on snow, we here in Colorado depend on in every way possible, unfortunately, if ONLY the mountains get it, then it may provide water for the rivers and river valleys, but it’s very bad for those of us who don’t live near any rivers, if we don’t get the moisture, we don’t get the privelidge of things like nice green grass, something that easterners take for granted.
I also have to say I side with kitten on the matter of a few people acting a little conceited at times when they complain about rain and not snow, why wont it turn cold, and so on and so forth, must be nice to be able to complain about getting rain, try living in an area that isn’t getting any rain or snow, then you have permission to complain, otherwise, just be happy you are getting anything at all other than severe drought and high winds, fires, water shortages/ restrictions and so on.
What I think people need to understand is that a lack of snow effects EVERYONE, whether your livelihood depends on it or not. Snow kills germs and bugs that carry disease, it gives the soil the essential nutrients needed to fertilize fruits and vegetables, and it provides groundwater for drinking. I complain not only because I am disappointed, but because I am very concerned about what will happen to our environment with a lack of snow, and that has a huge effect on everyone, not only those on this forum. Lack of snow is far reaching, and we all have a right to be concerned.
the lack of snow is sure making this home poor. the lack of rain, is making many of my neighbors poor. the lack of both will affect everyone in this country.
so who’s mad about the lack of snow/rain that “doesnt need it”?? last I heard even Hawaii is well behind their norm. I suppose Or & Wa are doing all right, at least the western halves of those states.
Well, some good news in the struggle against drought in my area, finally saw the persistent snow drought break last night, as snow began falling heavily, and when all has been said and done this evening, we have around 7 or 8″ of snow on the ground now, and there’s a possibilty for another snowstorm late next week into next weekend, we will see though, at least for the moment, hope has returned to southern Colorado.
