Enjoy your snow, to those who get any.
Much to the dismay of those of us in the Southern Mid-Atlantic and South, it’s not looking good for us, once again.
How horrible it is that a winter that was looking so great heading into it, is unfolding so pathetically (pattern-wise).
So if you see snow, I’m happy for you. I won’t be seeing any. Not unless major, MAJOR changes happen in the pacific, and since that’s incredibly unlikely… I guess I’ll have to deal with the extended fall and then deal with the consequences of such a thing: Explosive insect populations, lack of soil nutrients, low soil moisture, etc.
So, although some might not agree, I’m calling the time of death. ENSO wasn’t there to save us. And the Atlantic blocking is too weak and displaced to overpower the Pacific.

If i had some snow id for sure enjoy it. But it’s been in the 40′s and 50′s and nothing but rain here. North of me about 100 miles they are getting snow..

FatherFrost, I also live in the Northeast, and I am still holding out hope! I agree with you that another mild winter would be a very bad thing- summer drought, a lot of insects, which, in turn, will bring with them a lot of disease (think Lyme’s and West Nile). The soil will suffer, as in turn will our food supply. So I am hoping, hoping that things will turn around and save not only our winter, but our summer. People don’t understand that not having winter is not a good thing. Whenever I see people celebrating the lack of snow, I wonder if they really think about how it will impact us, I don’t think they understand what a bad thing it is to have no snow.
