Black Forest Fire…worst in Colorado’s history.

Posted By: sapporo1  Posted On: Jun 16th, 2013  Filed Under: Weather

483 homes destroyed, 15,700 acres of forest burned and gone, and just like last year, the whole thing got dangerously close to burning my place down too.

The good news…heavy thunderstorms the last 2 days have dampened the ground which has hindered the fire frim spreading, and has allowed our firefighters to gain 55% containment on it, and more stormy days ahead these next few days means that we may finally see the end of this fire, however…unless the southwest monsoon is strong and farther north this year, it may be a long summer ahead, here’s hoping for a return to normal, wet summer weather.
