How ironic that we found a persimmon tree on the first day of autumn! My Husband picked 5 or 6. They were really smaller than I expected. I couldn’t wait to get home and cut them. After a beautiful ride toward the western side of Richmond we got home cut them and………. It was so small I couldn’t tell if they were all knives or all spoons. These persimmons were the size of a large grape!!! They were soft and looked ripe; yet they were really small. For all you persimmon experts, do they usually come that small or are they like any other fruit; comes in various sizes? The tree was on the side of a busy road so we had to be careful therefore we didn’t get too many.
