This tranquil fall pattern will not be the winter. Maybe you guys remember, I was forecasting a tranquil fall. WELL, it came a bit later than I expected, but this november will be nothing like our winter. Right now, it is very cold over Asia. In time, that cold air looks to spill into the pacific as a trough, which will, in turn, pull up a ridge over the west coast 4 weeks from now, according to the EURO. Then, 5-6 weeks from now, that cold looks to pour over the ridge like a waterfall & into the Great lakes & Entire Eastern US...according to the european model. While this could Change, this model has been very consistant, & it goes along perfectly with the CFS(another model). Things could get extiting this winter, so we'll need to watch this. When the next EURO Seasonal Update gets released, I'll be sure to post the results :D

Actually, it should turn colder in 2 weeks. Blocking should develop in canada, & a WEAK, but potent trough looks to develop, & bring an end to the mild spell. But I do not think any SERIOUS cold will be in store UNTIL early December, when a Cold outbreak should affect the entire Great lakes & eastern US.

I'm a snow/cold lover, and proud of it. In the middle of this comeing week, the night time lows are supposed to drop a bit, but the day time highs will remain average, to slightly above for my area. Argh.

I was away all day, and I kept thinking about coming home and getting on FA's weather forum. WJP you didn't disappoint me! Great news for Virginia (I hope). Yes I'm a snow lover and proud also! Snow lovers rejoice!!!! Just when I saw the local news predicting highs in the 60s and low 70s for next week, you gave me hope again. I'm looking at this time as the "Get Ready to Get Ready" time! Stock up on the hot chocolate!
