Basically its because of a Zonal Jet Stream...potentially the tropical systems that are in the gulf and Nicaragua will burst the Zonal Flow and will maybe cause a trough to dig in and the start of winter might be here. All speculation.

Okay Guys let's remember who really is in control. This is all prediction, not Bible. Nobody on this earth loves wintertime more than I do! I love this sight, it's very informative. There are very intelligent people on here that know maps, ridges, flows and whatever else; but it's still a scientific guess. Let's not jinx this thing by putting our complete faith in man. It is what is is. It will be whatever it will be.

To be honest; I'm more facinated with Folk lore than anything else! I've learned so much in the past several weeks since I've joined Farmers Almanac. Check out WJP last winter forecast. Very interesting! I sure hope he's right on the money!!!! Sure wish I could find a persimmon around here.

True that Snowlover. I beleive WJP is mainly correct. I can;t wait untill the cooler weather filters in. I know just about everyone stomps on Accuweather, but they'er saying that around the 19th, our highs will drop down into the middle 50s. THAT would be ballin' outta control. But alas...thats alotta days out. Theres a HIGH chance that'll change.

One thing I hear is that a moderate El Nino can throw off the FA timing. I don't know if it is true. But my Opinion is that By Thanksgiving, things could really start to change. But if they don't, then 5-6 weeks from now, it looks as if some SERIOUS cold could be in the works. Its too early to tell for sure, but the signs are about. & historically, warm novembers more often than not lead to cold winters. & REMEMBER, THE BEST OF THIS WINTER WILL COME IN JANUARY & FEBUARY, SO DON'T BE SHOCKED IF THERE ARE BREAKS IN THE COLD & STORMINESS EARLY ON, BECAUSE THE LATTER HALF OF WINTER LOOKS MUCH BETTER THAN THE FIRST HALF
