Does anyone know what the furthest star is you can see with the naked eye in our galaxy?

I was just reading about this the other day...
My guess is ....What we see is about 99% of our galaxy which is about 4,000 light years away.
Want to mention there is the Andromeda Galaxy which is about 2.5 million years away.

I forgot to mention the fathest star in our galaxy is the Milky Way, but the star which is the farthest away in the Milky Way is called Sagittarius A*. The only problem is that it can not be seen by the naked eye due to the dust particles and clouded gas........am I close ???

The most distant star visible to the naked eye is Deneb in the constellation Cygnus the Swan.

Wouldn't this depend on how good your eye sight is?

That is correct in fact it was common among the indigenous peoples of the Americas to measure keenness of vision by the number of stars the viewer could see in the Pleiades.

But it seems the Pleiades are actually quite close to the Earth.

So it should depend on the distance as well as the actaul brightness of the star.
