Wanna shed some pounds without having to shed your favorite dishes? Personally, I love Sloppy Joes and Meatloaf, too... This all-in-one recipe makes both, is high in protein, while very low in fats, sodium and carbs. It's not only very simple and not messy to make, but also extremely easy to adjust for quantity (halve or double, etc). Enjoy!
SLOPPY JOE or MEATLOAF
16 oz lean ground beef (Laura's is great) - Cook, drain & crumble
8 TBSP natural applesauce (unsweetened)
8 TBSP catsup
2 oz onion, chopped (more or less according to taste)
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp salt
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, mixing until well blended. Spoon mixture into a loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Check and continue until desired consistency is achieved.
For Sloppy Joes, spoon mixture straight from bowl onto buns or a bed of long grain wild rice.
Umm, umm, GOOD!!!
