Re: TIckleMe Plant is now my favorite green gift
When You...
Don't Throw It Away!
Here are some easy and useful ways to reuse and recycle!Coffee Cans
Empty coffee cans (1 lb.) make great:
- Storage places for nails, screws, and small tools (write contents on plastic lid).
- Outdoor citronella candles. Place candle in can and light. When not in use, let candle cool then top with plastic lid.
- Baking pans. Bake breads (pumpkin, banana, etc.) in can. Good size and if you decorate the can, it can serve as a great gift.
- Fundraisers. Decorate empty coffee cans and fill with cookies/brownies. Sell at bake sales and other fund-raising events.
- Empty spice jars that have perforated inner lids can be reused for your own cinnamon and sugar mixture; cornstarch or flour for making gravy; or dispensing sprinkles.
- Great jars for homemade salad dressings, homemade mustards, and homemade candy. The fancier they are the better.
- Good food keepers, especially in the refrigerator. Make it easy to see what’s in there!
- Wrap your holiday lights around empty tubes. Prevents tangling—easy storage.
- Use to store tongs in drawers. Keeps tongs closed, so they take up less room.
- Store sugar. Easy to pour and sugar won’t lump.
- Fill with rice, small pasta, dried beans, used lemons (yes, used lemons).
- Save partly used lemons, put them in your dishwater. They make the water, dishes and your hands smell good. Also cut grease.
