As many have said on here....
Are You Kissable?
This Valentine’s Day, will your sweetheart corner you for a kiss or run the other way? Halitosis – otherwise known as bad breath – plagues everyone at times and will put a damper on any occasion, whether it’s a romantic date, a job interview, or a party. Understanding the causes can help you ward off the offensive problem, and knowing what to do when it does occur will keep you kissable for your Valentine.Causes of bad breath:
- Poor oral hygiene
- Certain foods, such as onions and garlic
- Smoking
- Drinking alcohol
- Gingivitis (gum disease)
- Deficiency of Vitamin B or zinc
- Certain medications
- Brushing and flossing teeth on a regular basis (don’t forget to brush your tongue)
- Drinking water throughout the day
- Getting regular dental checkups to detect and treat gum disease
- Rinsing mouth with baking soda dissolved in warm water
- Avoiding mouthwashes containing alcohol and dyes
- Chewing herbs such as parsley, wintergreen, rosemary, basil, thyme, fennel, or anise seeds
- Eating plain yogurt on a daily basis
