Last month, we welcomed 2005 as the Year of the Rooster. Since every rooster needs a hen during the Month of Love, we’ve called on one of our favorites for our February issue!
"Big Red,” pictured here, attended the annual convention of the National FFA Organization to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the “Rhode Island Red’s” listing in the Poultry Registry and the 50th anniversary of its designation as the State Bird of Rhode Island. Members of the Narragansett FFA Chapter originally constructed Big Red as a 4-H project.
