Blockbusters

½ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 ½ cups flour
8 tablespoons cocoa
2 teaspoons vanilla
½ cup milk
½ cup nuts (optional)

Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift together flour and cocoa. Add to cream mixture alternately with milk and vanilla. Add nuts. Spread in jelly roll pan and bake at 350 degrees F 10-15 minutes. Cool before frosting.

Frosting
Beat together:
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
3 tablespoons strong hot coffee
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
