Chicken Casserole with Wild Rice

1(6oz) box of Uncle Bens long grain

& wild rice

1(10 1/2oz) can cream of mushroom

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup slivered almonds

2 cups hot water

1 fryer chicken, cut up

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon butter or margarine

 


Combine contents of box and water in 2 1/2 quart casserole diah. Salt and pepper chicken to taste. Arrange on top of rice mixture. Bake, covered, 1 1/4 hours at 375. Combine soup and milk. Saute' almonds in butter or margarine. When casserole is done, pour soup mixture over casserole. Sprinkle top with almonds. Return to oven, uncovered and baked until soup is bubbly.
