Corn Bread

3/4 cup sifted flour

1 tsp. salt

3 tsp. baking powder

3 T. sugar

1 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal

2 eggs, beaten

1 12/ cup milk

1/4 cup shortening


Sift flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar and add cornmeal. Combine eggs with milk and shortening and moisten dry ingredients. Turn into a shallow, well-greased pan and bake in hot 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.
