Custard Pie

1 unbaked 9- inch pastry shell
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 cups hot water
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Nutmeg
Pour combined condensed milk and hot water gradually over eggs. Add salt and vanilla. Pour mixture into unbaked pasry shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake in moderately hot oven (400 F.) and bake until custard is set and pasry done. about 25 minutes longer. (A knife blade inserted in center of pie comes out clean when custard is done.)
Makes a 9-inch pie
