Lemon Bread

 

1/3 cup butter                             

1-1/4 cup sugar


1-1/2 cups flour

2 eggs                                            

1/4 teaspoon salt

1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder         

1/2 cup milk                                     


Zest from 1 lemon

Juice from 1 lemon
 

 



  Cream butter and 1 cup of sugar in a large bowl. Add lemon zest and eggs. Mix well. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Mix until blended. Pout into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1hr. Cool 5 minutes. Mix lemon juice with ¼ cup sugar. Spoon or brush over top of loaf.
