Melt the semisweet chocolate pieces and butter or margarine over low heat. Remove from heat. Blend in the sour cream, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add enough sifted confectioners sugar to make frosting speadable. Beat well. Spread over cooled cake.
Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting
16 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
4 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 3/4 cups confectioners sugar
