Although some may think RSS stands for Read the Sign, Stupid, it's really short for Rich Site Summary or even Really Simple Syndication. This increasingly popular online tool turns web copy and other information into a neatly organized index of the latest articles and postings. So you can stay on top of the information you want, no matter how often it comes.

To start, all that is needed is an RSS reader program. Dozens of reader programs are currently available – and many can be downloaded for free (others offer more bells and whistles and charge for the software) .

Other options include Bloglines (http://www.bloglines.com), and the new Google Reader (http://www.google.com/reader/) . Both are FREE and offer the added benefit of not having to to download or install any software – simply register and you can instantly begin accessing Farmers' Almanac RSS feeds at any time, from any computer or mobile device.
