I have to respond about leaving your family pet behind, I know I would never leave my dogs at home during evacuation but during Katrina many people down here who didn't own there own vehicle were not allowed on evacuation buses with there family pets and were forced to leave there animals in the attic with food and water in hopes of coming back the next day. I know several of my friends who stayed the duration of Katrina because there was no way to evacuate there pets. The reality is that not everyone has the means to evacuate on there own and leaving pets behind to save your family was a hard decision a lot of New Orleanians had to deal with.

you tape the windows for a hurricane NOT a tornado silly.
If a tornado is on the way, you have 2 choices...

1)do nothing and wait for it to arrive(in which case you will end up with your head between your leggs kissing your sorry butt good-bye)

2) find shelter of some sort that is lower than the surrounding landscape. Now that does NOT mean going underground(although that IS an option), it just means finding the lowest depression, ditch, etc., to hide in.

NEVER EVER seek out a bridge for shelter from a tornado...that bridge may sprout wings & fly taking you & all that is with you with the bridge.

I agree with Mr Anderson, there is no correct answer for "Which one of these things should you not do if a hurricane is on the way." Answer "D" should have been done before; Answer "C" does not make sense if there is flooding (which there normally is); Answere "A" should be done all the time, but it will not help any tree if there is a hurricane approaching; Answere "B" taping windows won't help - Boarding up windows has always been done in Hurricane Alley.
