Predictions Ring True

Sub-zero temperatures and feet of snow in New England and Canada, flurries in Florida and Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, ski resorts all over the country celebrating their best season in more than a decade ... Who could ever have predicted a winter like this? The Farmers' Almanac, that’s who!

The 2008 Farmers' Almanac, which officially hit the store shelves back in August, contains a chilly forecast for most of the country this winter. The official outlook called for a "Two-faced Winter" with warmer or overall mild temperatures for locations west of hte Misssissippi River but colder than normal for most locations east of the Mississippi River.
