Halloween Debriefing - Election Day
I hope you had as much fun on Halloween Night as I did. I passed out my “secret password” on a morning radio program. 400 youngsters stopped by to collect 3 (or more) GIANT candy bars and to go through my “haunted house”. Because it was a Friday night, the treaters started at 4:50pm and ended around 9:30pm. Hope you had as much fun as I did.
Finally, tomorrow is election day. The length and the intensity of the many local, state and national campaigns can be as draining for the voters as I believe it is for those brave souls who are running. The Farmers’ Almanac has not made a political comment since 1928 and that is as it should be. But, I hope that if you have not already done so by absentee ballot, that you will get out and vote tomorrow.
Several years ago, we had a campaign to change elections from a Tuesday to a weekend (which is what happens around the world) so more people would have time to go to the polls. We thought it would increase participation. With expanded absentee voting, it looks like we will see a record turnout and that is as it should be. Get out and vote!
