I may not be greatest driver in the world, but I have had a license since October 1967 and have never had an accident (not even a moose or deer). Over the weekend I was behind a vehicle with Florida plates who abruptly made a left turn without the benefit of a turn signal. I drive defensively and noticed a slowing before the turn, averting an accident. It got me thinking about my biggest gripes when it comes to other drivers, though.
By biggest gripe – the thing that drives me absolutely crazy – has to be people who make a turn without using a blinker. I know they know where they are going but, hey, share it with others. Heck, it takes the movement of a finger (maybe 3”) and 2 seconds to warn others. But, so many people fail to indicate a turn. Why?
My #2 gripe are people who drive in the dark without lights. As dusk approaches, it gets more difficult to see dark cars that fail to put on headlights. I have a GMC Acadia with automatic lights but hey, how hard is it to turn on lights when it starts to get dark or it is raining? I flip my lights to anyone who is clueless — occasionally a police car too.
We all spend considerable time behind the wheel — what drives you crazy? It is OK to admit that you are an offender, but what bad driving habit really gets your goat? Share below!
