Ease Digestion With Fennel Tea

Nature truly is the master chemist and possesses all the keys for unlocking good health. Try this soothing fennel tea to help with digestive issues.

We have always relied on plants to treat illness and soothe aches and pains. In fact, most cultures still do. Although modern medicine has refined natural ingredients into dusty white pills, we can’t forget that most of our important medicines are derived from plants. Nature truly is the master chemist and possesses all the keys for unlocking good health.

Today, herbalists still recommend a tea made from crushed fennel seeds for indigestion and cramps (also as an eyewash). In Ancient Rome, an extract from the root was even prescribed as a treatment for cataracts.

Fennel Seed Digestive Tea

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) seeds are especially high in the essential oils that help ease flatulence, so they make an excellent tea to stimulate digestion.

Makes 1 cup

Directions:

Lightly crush 1 ½ teaspoons fennel seeds with the back of a spoon, then place them in a mesh tea strainer in a cup. Pour over 1 cup boiling water and allow to infuse for 5–7 minutes before drinking.
