Wake Up and Smell the Coffee

The fresh aroma of coffee infiltrates every area of our lives. Many aren’t fully awake in the mornings until they’ve had their cup of Joe. Night owls thrive on it for a late night boost of energy. And who doesn’t enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee with good friends and an after-dinner dessert? No matter when you like your java, you’re sure to rave over these delicious coffee concoctions!

Breakfast Coffee
1 tablespoon instant espresso or instant coffee
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons protein powder
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients. Blend in blender until well mixed. Makes 2 servings.

Caramel Iced Coffee
3 cups crushed ice or ice cubes
1 1/2 cups cold coffee
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons caramel syrup
1 teaspoon chocolate syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash of vanilla extract

In blender, combine coffee, milk, sugar, caramel and chocolate syrups, and salt. Blend on medium speed for 20 seconds. Add vanilla extract and ice. Blend on high speed until drink is smooth and creamy. Makes 2 large servings.

Mediterranean Coffee
3 tablespoons coarse ground coffee
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cocoa
1 teaspoon anise seed
Pinch of dried orange peel

Combine all ingredients together and then brew the mixture by your favorite method.

Coffee Ice Cream Float
3 cups strong coffee, chilled
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup half & half
4 scoops coffee ice cream
3/4 cup club soda
Whipped cream

Mix coffee, sugar and half & half. Fill 4 tall glasses about halfway with the mixture. Add 1 scoop ice cream to each glass, then fill up with soda. Top with whipped cream. Makes 4 servings.

White Chocolate Coffee
3 ounces white chocolate, chopped
2 cups half & half
2 cups hot coffee
Whipped cream

Melt chocolate along with half & half in saucepan, stirring until smooth. Stir in coffee. Serve with whipped cream. Serves 6

Coffee Latte Shake
1 cup strong coffee, chilled
1 cup milk
10 ice cubes
1/3 package chocolate instant pudding mix
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Hazelnut creamer, to taste
Sugar, to taste

Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend until ice is crushed and shake is thick.
