Pumpkin-Orange Pie Shots

Course Drinks
Cuisine American

Ingredients

No waiting for this pie to bake! Grab a bag of juice oranges and a can of pumpkin puree to make delicious pumpkin and orange shots for your party guests. We served these seasonal shots in hollowed-out oranges decorated with jack o’ lantern faces.

These mini pumpkin pie shots are packed with vitamins, minerals, and immune-enhancing antioxidants which help prevent cancer and cardiovascular disease.

    • Ingredients (Per shot):
    • 1 juice orange
    • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree, chilled
    • 1 tablespoon unsweetened shredded coconut
    • 1 tablespoon pecans, chopped
    • 1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup or raw honey, to taste
    • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
    • Dash of ground ginger

    Instructions

    • Directions:
(Optional step) To make the Jack-O-Lantern orange cups ahead for your party, paint a face on room-temperature oranges before cutting. You can use a Sharpie marker, or fingernail polish as our paint since it will not penetrate the thick skin. Allow paint to thoroughly dry before proceeding.
Cut the top off each orange. Squeeze the juice from the orange top into your mini-blender before discarding. Insert the knife down the center of the inside of the orange and work the sharp knife around the inside of the orange to separate it from the rind to create a cup. Transfer the contents of the orange to your blender, removing seeds.
Add the remaining ingredients to the blender and process until smooth. Mixture can be chilled before serving.  Pour mixture into hollowed oranges or any desired Halloween-themed vessels and enjoy.
