Sausage-Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers

Sausage-Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers

These stuffed peppers (known at pubs as “poppers”) are delicious and are a fantastic game-day treat. Try this easy recipe!

Sausage-Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers

5 large jalapeno peppers
8 oz. cream cheese
1 lb. roll of sage sausage

Depending on how many of these you want to make, you can adjust the ingredients to suit your needs.

Wash and remove pepper stems. Cut peppers lengthwise down the middle, using the roundest sides to fill (some people like to wear rubber gloves for this!). Clean out seeds and white membranes and discard. Let peppers dry.

Meanwhile, brown sausage and drain well. Stir cream cheese and sausage together. Fill each section of pepper with the mixture. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1919, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
