Before you place a candle inside your Jack-O-Lantern, coat the lid with spices such as ground cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin pie spice. The heat of the candle will warm the spices and send a delicious scent through the air.
If you receive fresh cut flowers for Mother’s Day, remove any plastic wrapping and immediately cut the stems at an angle with a sharp knife, about 1-2 inches from the bottom, then place them in fresh water. The angle cut allows the stems to absorb water better.

To get stubborn red wine stains out of table cloths, combine equal parts liquid dish soap and hydrogen peroxide in a bowl. Sponge or pour the mixture over the stain and let stand for a minute to pre-soak. Gently blot until the stain can no longer be seen. Then launder as usual.
Cooks know that on Thanksgiving Day, oven space is limited. So rather than take up space trying to keep your mashed potatoes warm, transfer them to your slow cooker and keep it on Low. You can even bring the ceramic insert right to the table when it’s time to eat!
