Messy Art Projects

If your kids love to paint or play with clay, or if they just love messy crafts, buy inexpensive plastic tablecloths and use them to protect the work surfaces. They will help keep your table, counter, and/or floor clean, and they can be used over and over again.

Wood Scratches

To conceal scratches in dark furniture, rub in a paste of coffee grounds and a small amount of water.

Homemade Furniture Polish

Miso tahini dressing - Juice

Mix the juice from 1 lemon with 3 tablespoons of water and 3 teaspoons of olive oil together in a spray bottle. After spraying, wipe down furniture with a soft, dry cloth.

Make Your Own Toilet Bowl Cleaner

You can clean the toilet without chemicals! Sprinkle 1/4 cup of baking soda around the edges of the bowl, then carefully pour 1/4 cup of vinegar onto the baking soda. Let it foam up. Scrub with a toilet brush and flush.

Tiny Holes or Cracks in Windows

Try this as a temporary repair for a tiny hole in a window pane. Fill the hole with a dab of colorless nail polish, allow to dry and build up layers until the hole is completely closed.
